Philmont Training Center (PTC) is a national volunteer training center for the BSA. Each year, more than 6,000 Scouters and family members attend PTC for conferences that feature the latest tools and techniques, audiovisuals, discussions, ideas and activities led by a faculty of experienced Scouters. The Fundamentals of Training is the first phase of a three-part "Train-the-Trainer" series. It introduces teaching techniques and tips to help new Scouting trainers present effective training programs. It can also help freshen up the skills of current BSA trainers. After completeing this course, trainers can move on to part 2 of 3 with The Trainer's EDGE, and then the Master Trainer course taught at national BSA volunteer training centers.. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO

The Trainer's EDGE is the second phase of a three-part "Train-the-Trainer" series. It is a required train-the-trainer course for Wood Badge and NYLT staffers, and helps to hone the skills of a Scouting trainer. It supplements the staff development process by polishing presentation skills and offering hands-on experience in a variety of presentation methods. of After completeing this course, trainers can staff Wood Badge and NYLT, or go on to more training with Master Trainer courses taught at national BSA volunteer training centers. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO

NYLT Leadership Academy is a train-the-trainer course for NYLT Staff. The course is delivered by an elite nation-wide leadership team of NYLT staffers for Council NYLT staffers throughout the country. Youth are exposed to a personal, reflective, and intense leadership development environment throughout the 1-week course, offered in several weeks througout each summer. After successfully completing the NYLT Leadership Academy course, graduates are better prepared to train and mentor within their own Council NYLT courses.
