Clare Toman

2019-2020 NORTHEAST REGION VENTURING PRESIDENT

     Clare Toman joined Venturing at the age of 14 to explore all the outdoor opportunities Venturing has to offer. She is from the Jersey Shore and recently served as the Northeast Region Vice President of Communications as well as being the president of her crew. Clare hails from Washington Crossing Council and is a proud member of Crew 4385 of Hamilton, New Jersey.

     Clare is a Region Venturing Leadership Award recipient and attended the 2015 World Jamboree in Japan. She also attended VenturingFest in 2016 as well as the National Jamboree in 2017. Clare served on the staff of VenturingFest 2018 this past summer and will be serving on the International Service Team in the Puma Patrol this upcoming summer at the 2019 World Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve. She will also be serving as a staff member of the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience at the Philmont Training Center this summer. 

     Clare will be studying Marketing and Consumer Psychology in the fall at Fairfield University. Clare hopes to improve communication between the Northeast Region Venturing Officers’ Association and the Venturers in the Northeast Region as well as increasing support provided by the region and areas to CVOA’s.

Samantha Troiano

2019-2020 NORTHEAST REGION VENTURING VICE PRESIDENT OF ADMINISTRATION

     Samantha Troiano first joined Venturing at the age of 13 to explore the outdoors, and make new friends. She is from Mayflower Council in Marshfield, Massachusetts, and served most recently as the Northeast Region Area 1 Venturing President.

     Samantha is a Summit Award recipient, has her Pope Pius XII religious emblem, was recently elected into the Order of the Arrow, and holds the Council, Area, and Regional Venturing Leadership Awards. She has sat on the Old Colony Council and Mayflower Council Executive Boards as the Venturing Youth Representative.

     This upcoming summer she will be attending National Camping School for outdoor skills and will be the Scoutcraft Director at LeBaron R. Barker Scout Reservation (Camp Squanto). Samantha is a rising sophomore at the University of Maine.

Samantha hopes to assist Area Venturing Officers Associations to create strategies in helping their Council VOA’s to improve through their Journey to Excellence results.

 

Ryan Osterlind

2019-2020 NORTHEAST REGION VENTURING VICE PRESIDENT OF PROGRAM

     Ryan joined Venturing at the age of 14. He is a founding member of Venturing Crew 541 in Westampton, New Jersey. He is a resident of Burlington, NJ and attends Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, PA. He is a Biology – Allied Health major with the intent to attend Jefferson University to pursue his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Ryan is a Region Venturing Leadership Award Recipient. He recently served as the Northeast Region Area 5 Venturing Officers Association President. He has also staffed numerous National Youth Leadership Training Courses for his council. He is also an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor Member of Lenape Lodge 8 in Garden State Council. Ryan hopes to work closely with the NERVOA to improve communications and to increase the motivation and enthusiasm across the Region for Venturing. He also hopes to assist the region with the development of new programs and resources for all venturers to use! He hopes to provide some amazing program for the year to come!

Ian Arnold

2019-2020 NORTHEAST REGION VENTURING VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMUNICATION

     Ian Arnold joined the Venturing Program at the age of 15 in order to explore the numerous High Adventure opportunities within the program. Ian hails from Mayflower Council and is a proud member of Venturing Crew 420 in Norwood, MA. Most recently, Ian served as the Northeast Region Area 1 Venturing Vice President of Communication.

     Ian has earned his Pathfinder Award (currently working on his Summit Award), is an Eagle Scout, and a Vigil Honor Member of Tantamous Lodge 223. Additionally, Ian has received the Council and Area Venturing Leadership Awards. Ian attended the 2017 National Jamboree and is looking forward to the 2020 VenturingFest. He is an avid National Youth Leadership Training staffer, staffing numerous courses and is excited to staff a PowderHorn Course in 2020. This fall, Ian will be a senior at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, MA, having enrolled in four Advanced Placement Courses.

     Ian hopes to establish a Northeast Region Style Guide, as well as a continuing the Northeast Region Instagram Takeovers and working with the six areas to help them establish a quarterly newsletter. Ian cannot wait to work with the Northeast Region Venturing Officers' Association as he works to improve communication across the Northeast.
