Kodiak / Kodiak X Course Director Conferences

Date/Offering Host Council Location Information

Kodiak is an advanced leadership development course for older aged youth offered in an exciting and challenging atmosphere using whatever high-adventure resources you have available.  Your unit or council can offer a course backpacking or rafting down a river or even in your Scout camp.  Kodiak teaches leadership skills in a fun way that is internalized by the participants.  Kodiak is not taught indoors or in a classroom; it is done completely outdoors using nature's examples of leadership. In other words, it is a challenging high-adventure program with a simple and fun leadership course included.

Kodiak X is a weekend leadership challenge course that builds on the leadership commissions learned in Kodiak.  Two additional commissions are taught to participants whop will all have an opportunity to practice their leadership skills while serving as a leader of a team as they face challenging scenarios.

The Kodiak/KodiakX Course Directors Conference is delivered over a fun-filled weekend and provides in depth examination of the syllabus for each program, an understanding of the organization required, and the planning necessary to successfully bring this exciting program to your older youth.

Who should attend? The Kodiak/Kodiak X CDC is appropriate for Council or District volunteers and professional responsible for youth leadership development and older youth programs such as Venturing. Venturing Advisors and Scoutmasters with strong older youth populations should also consider attending.
